EntreCard Performance Report
December 10, 2007 – 12:30 pmAs you all most probably noticed, I like hundreds of other bloggers out there added EntreCard to MarketTreasure. I’m sure you read tons of posts on various blogs about EntreCard so I’m not going to write another post on how the whole system works, if you don’t know, you can find tons of material out that that should get you started. Here are a few I came across lately.

I’m writing this post as a report on my performance during the last 48 hours in using EntreCard . I must admit at first I was skeptical about the whole concept (I’m skeptical about anything new) and that’s why it took me so long to implement the service on my blog.
For the past 48 hours I have…
- Earned 420 Credits
- Dropped 343 Cards
- Had 55 cards dropped my site
- Received 63 hits from EntreCard
- Bought 2 Advertising spots on MarketingDeviant and pinoyblogero
- Sent 15 Click from my blog to other blogs
- Sold 13 ads within 10 minutes of adding the widget
- Received 22 credits for showing ads on my blog.
At first I thought the quality of the hits I would receive from EntreCard would be low in quality because everyone would be visiting the blog just to drop their cards. But again I was proved wrong, I analyzed google analytic’s report for the visits that were referred to me from EntreCard and I was astonished with what I saw.
The average time an EntreCard referral stayed on MarketTreasure was 3+ Minutes.
56% of the visitors from EntreCard actually went 1 link deep link into the blog.
I also had 9 RSS subscribers over the last 48 hrs, not bad right?
There’s one thing that’s bugging me about EntreCard , the site has been experiencing some server issues over the last couple of hours and I keep on getting errors every other time I try to access my dashboard. Most probably they weren’t expecting the sudden growth they received over the past couple of days and that put some extra load on their servers. Here’s a reply I got from Phirate on the EntreCard Forums.
Our server is performing really well, unfortunately we have experienced some pretty impressive growth and there have been growing pains. I apologize, load testing is all very well but there are limits to what you can reasonably anticipate. We are improving things as we go and hope to avoid inconvenience as much as possible.
If there’s something you find particularly slow, please comment on here and we’ll look at speeding it up.
A Small not about EntreCard credits.
A lot of people are expecting the Credit value to drop over the coming weeks, I’ve also had a small chat on the forums with Phirate who says that they’re doing everything they can to keep the Credit value increasing on the long run, but there’s no guarantee that it will. If I were you I wouldn’t bank my credits just yet. Advertise and promote your site with the low prices while you can.
That’s all I have for you today about EntreCard , let’s all hope it keeps going well as it has been as if it does it will revolutionize the blogosphere.
Don’t forget to subscribe to my RSS feed as I’ll be launching my first contest in a few days.
If you enjoyed this post, make sure you subscribe to my RSS feed!

I’ve been getting some good traffic from EntreCard too. Looks like you’ve dropped quite a few cards there. I’m getting much more traffic from dropped cards than from advertising.
Yea I did drop a couple hundred cards
. When I decide to use something on the blog I tend to test it to it’s limits (Or my patience).
I’m getting the same effects as you are, I’m getting more traffic from people actually trying to earn credits from dropping cards onto my widget than people actually visiting the site from someone else’s blog.
I believe that if they don’t modify the system, it won’t be as effective in the long run. It would end up just like any other manual click exchange network.
Well just have to wait and see.
Thanks again for popping by, and I hope to see you around often
I added entrecard to my blog on November 13th. Since then I have had 843 visits and 1327 pageviews. Average time spent on my blog is 1:22 which means most people probably read at least one post or at leas the first few showing on the home page as I see 1.5 pages per visit average.
Overall I think it is helping get traffic I wouldn’t otherwise have. Looking at the trend though, traffic seems to be increasing daily. I do find that now that my entrecard is a little more expensive, I don’t get as many advertisement requests which ultimately is a good thing because it means the quality of advertisers is better and more appropriate.
Now if I can just translate that traffic into RSS subscribers.
James those are awesome results. I too have experienced daily increase in visitors from www.entrecard.com and I think I know why.
It’s all how entrecard sorts it’s blogs in its campaign section, the more expensive it is to advertise on your site the more higher your blog card is listed, therefore you have a better chance of people visiting your site, since most people start visiting blogs from the top and are bored half way through.
The funny thing is that the higher you get, the more your prices increase because more people are dropping cards on you. I think it’s a flaw that entrecard will find a way around in a couple of days but untill then exploit it
About your RSS problem, I’m not going to complain about RSS subscriptions yet, I got about 9 during the first 48hrs of using entrecard (Hopefully they increased again).
You just have t be patient. If anyone is interested subscribe to James’s RSS Feed here.

And another thing, I just subscribed to your RSS feed, so you should get a +1 on your counter in a few hrs
Hope I see you too on my RSS feed now
I’ll come over to your blog again, and re-read through some of your posts because it all looks pretty interesting and exciting.
I also checked out the Entrecard blog where they explain exactly how the credits work. There was an immediate concern about how many credits could flood the system and with their formula it is virtually guaranteed that there won’t be an excess of credits which keeps the big guys in check, and offers the newbies a chance to still earn credits.
The one problem I have found is lazy bloggers that don’t check their ad queue at least once a week. I had to go through mine and remove ones that were pending and over a couple weeks old. The way I see it, if a blogger can’t be bothered to check on their marketing campaign (even if it is free) the exposure I might get from that site is minimal.
Thanks for subscribing to my feed. I’m sure you will find something interesting.
I haven’t been a member of EntreCard for that long so I don’t know much about how long it would take for ads to be approved, I managed to get a couple of ads approved on various sites.
Only got one card refused but it was on a travel website so that might be it.
I’ve also read on the forum that they’d be adding some features to the blog’s profile on EntreCard, such as the number of people that actualy clicked on cards on that particular blog etc.
It would be a nice indication if the blog is active enough or not.
I also read that someone suggested an auction to settle the price for a card on that blog for a particular day, it sure would be much more effective than the current system.
I’ll see what they come up with and most probably I’ll post again with the changes and my traffic report from EntreCard.
Thanks again for your interest in MarketTreasure
Wow, you really did get to work
I haven’t had any real problems with it so far. It’s a nice way to find blogs. I find myself visiting the same blogs through entrecard rather than my feeder lately! They are constantly working on any kinks or problems so I’m sure they’ll keep finding ways of improving entrecard.
clairec23 I find that EntreCard is a great source to find blogs, I am subscribed to my EntreCard inbox by RSS so I don’t have to constantly visit my EntreCard dashboard.
There’s one real problem I find irritating, the inbox clears itself out on its own, so it’s not really that much of a record keeper.
I also noticed that your site doesn’t have entrecard installed.
If I were you I’d install it. It’s one of the greatest way to starting up a blog.
PS: You now have a new RSS subscriber to your blog
I think I should be dropping more cards then.
You can advertise in my blog.

I just started so payment is still low… and I don’t game with Entrecard. Approval in 1 hour!
Cheers!
Culture Shiok!, I would like to advertise on your blog, but all your spots are full and the advertise option is not available.
I just join the Entrecard and is helping me gaining visitor. The function of the website is easy to use.
Very easy to use, and the fact that all it’s members are bloggers makes a big difference.
